Common Core State Standards were designed to be a guideline, a road map to get our young generations prepared for college and ready to compete in today's global economy. However, they can be overwhelming to read and to understand. On this page, you will find links to the standards for second grade as well as I Can statements for kids. The goal is to master these standards by the end of second grade.

This is the Common Core State Standards Initiative page. The tabs explain why Common Core is important to your child, lets you explore all of the standards and answers frequently asked questions to help you understand how the Common Core was created.
